We intend to continue our findings and seek more information about the impact of different regulatory mechanisms, and what we have seen in the last years makes our opinion about the precautionary principle more confident: a regulatory mechanism must be based on the precautionary principle, and these measures (like the EFSA decision and recent on chlorpyrifos) will almost certainly be insufficient to reduce the risk that is posed by glyphosate. The only realistic alternative is a comprehensive toxicological assessment of glyphosate as a whole in the EU before its use. How do you plan on addressing regulatory hurdles to further your research? We plan, for example, to publish complementary literature reviews that complement our new findings to support the development of a precautionary principle based assessment of glyphosate and the potential benefits of a comprehensive toxicological assessment.
